Key points
- No non-essential cookies without your consent.
- Consent Mode defaults every tag to “denied”.
- GPC keeps advertising cookies off.
- Change your choice any time.
01What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is similar browser storage. Tags and pixels are small pieces of code that send information to analytics or advertising tools. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these.
First-party cookies are set by this website. Third-party cookies are set by other services, such as analytics providers.
02How this website uses cookies
By default, this website uses only strictly necessary storage. We do not need cookies to show you the site or to process the contact form. Rate limiting on the contact form works on our server with a keyed hash of your IP address, not a cookie.
If we enable analytics or advertising measurement, they load through Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode set to “denied” by default. Nothing in those categories runs until you click Accept in the cookie banner.
Current status: analytics tags are enabled on this site, subject to your consent.
03Categories and examples
| Category | Name / provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | adon-consent (local storage, first-party) | Remembers your cookie choice | Until you clear it |
| Analytics (consent) | _ga — Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors to measure site usage | Up to 2 years |
| Analytics (consent) | _ga_<ID> — Google Analytics 4 | Keeps session state for analytics | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising measurement (consent, never with GPC) | _gcl_au — Google Ads | Measures conversions from Google ads | 90 days |
| Advertising measurement (consent, never with GPC) | _fbp — Meta | Measures conversions from Meta ads | 90 days |
| Advertising measurement (consent, never with GPC) | _uetsid / _uetvid — Microsoft Advertising | Measures conversions from Microsoft ads | 1 day / up to 13 months |
Analytics and advertising rows apply only if we enable those tools for our own marketing. Providers may change cookie names and durations; we update this table when we change our setup.
04Google Tag Manager, GA4 and Consent Mode
- Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a tool that loads other tags. GTM does not itself set cookies for tracking.
- We use Google Consent Mode. Analytics storage, ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization all start as denied.
- If you accept, analytics storage is granted. Advertising storage is granted only if your browser does not send GPC.
- If you decline, the tags stay in their denied state and no analytics or advertising cookies are set.
- We never send names, emails, phone numbers or form contents in plain text in analytics events or pixels.
- Only if you accepted cookies and your browser does not send GPC: when you submit the contact form, a one-way SHA-256 hash of the email and phone you entered may be shared with Google Ads to measure conversions (enhanced conversions). The hash is created in your browser; the plain values are never sent to the ad platform.
05Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. Advertising cookies stay off for that browser, even if you accept analytics.
06How to control cookies
- Cookie banner and settings: when analytics are enabled, use the banner or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to change your choice at any time.
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary storage may mean we can’t remember your choice.
- GPC: turn on Global Privacy Control in a supporting browser or extension.
- Google Analytics opt-out: Google offers a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Ad personalization: manage it in your Google, Meta and Microsoft account settings, or through industry tools such as optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
07More information and changes
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information more broadly. We will update this Cookie Policy, and its “Last updated” date, when our use of cookies changes.
